Dawn Raids 

A dawn raid is an unannounced search of residential or business premises conducted by law enforcement or regulatory authorities under the authority of a search warrant. In England and Wales, such searches are commonly carried out under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (PACE) or other statutory powers depending on the investigating body.

Dawn raids may be conducted by the police, HMRC, the Serious Fraud Office (SFO), the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) or other regulatory bodies, depending on the nature of the suspected offence.
