Our client, a sitting local councillor, was accused of fraud by false representation. The Prosecution alleged that he deliberately used his political position to gain entry to the social housing system. As a result, he allegedly secured a tenancy, despite already owning several properties. The tenancy was occupied for several years before being identified by the Legal Department of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
